About Me

Pzenix is the trading name of Jeffrey Parker, the person writing this description, and master of talking about himself in the third person.

He’s a software developer, engineer, analyst, and a lover of cheesecake.  He has a history of interest and experience with various computer software and hardware related subjects.

Key Skills

The ability to learn new things, and apply that towards problem solving.

Scoping, analysis, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance.  C/C++, C#, PHP, *SQL, -Java* with a healthy smattering of HTML/CSS/JS, a competent background in mathematics, and a variety of random bits picked up over the years.

For example …

A digital photograph library and licensing agency wanted a way to filter their library by colour.  Within two days, we had a routine that automatically determined prominent colours from a block histogram, stored the data in a small number of properly indexed tables, and a widget for their website that integrated with their search facility to enable filtering images based on colour prominence and proximity.

That was in 2003, and my first taste of rapid problem solving. The solution is still in use today.

These days, I’m playing with large scale data processing, Virtual Reality, and anything interesting that happens upon my desk.
